(FirmGreen®), a California-based alternative energy company, announced the first shipment of its patented biogas cleaning equipment this week, with more to follow. Bound for Rio de Janeiro, the export of FirmGreen’s USA-made goods to Brazil is creating hundreds of skilled green collar jobs for manufacturers and workers, here in American and in Brazil. FirmGreen's project in Brazil will help create new skilled jobs at Novo Gramacho, the landfill depicted in the internationally acclaimed documentary and 2011 Academy Awards® nominee, Waste Land. The biogas purification facility will also improve local air quality on a long-term basis, as the landfill's "dirty gas," a natural by-product of trash decomposing, is turned into clean usable gas using FirmGreen's technology. The resulting “biogas” is an environmental-friendly, highly useful fuel with the energy-equivalent of natural gas.
