The Green Energy Center located at Solid Waste Authority of Central Ohio (SWACO)  is turning trash into renewable natural gas using innovative technology that turns landfill gas into a clean transportation fuel used to power the company’s fleet of dedicated and bi-fuel natural gas pick-up trucks and cars.  FirmGreen designed and built this award-winning facility, using its patented and proprietary technology platform, in partnership with the Ohio landfill operator.

Produced by Maryland Public Television’s MotorWeek program, a segment featuring the project will air on PBS stations nationwide starting Dec. 11, 2009 (in the regular weekly MotorWeek timeslot on your local PBS station). It will also be broadcasted on the SPEED Channel on cable and satellite networks beginning Dec. 18, 2009.

For show times in your area, check the MotorWeek and SPEED Channel Web sites. Viewers with newer widescreen televisions can watch the episode in 16:9 hi-definition on the SPEED channel.

Previous segments in the series are available on the Alternative Fuels and Advanced Vehicles Data Center (AFDC) website. New segments will be posted as they air, so if you missed this segment on your local channel, you can click here to watch it online.
